Dr. Ortega just published a manuscript, “Effect of rare variants in ADRB2 on risk of severe exacerbations and symptom control during longacting ? agonist treatment in a multiethnic asthma population: a genetic study”, in Lancet Respiratory and has received  a lot of press coverage.   He was interviewed by the Winston-Salem Journal and the article appears in the January 28, 2014 edition and in Medpage Today publication.  http://www.medpagetoday.com/Pulmonology/Asthma/44013

 A diagram by Victor Ortega, MD, Deborah Meyers, PhD, and Boyd Jacobson was accepted as the cover for the January 2014 issue of The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, the highest ranked allergy journal.  The diagram showed the Impact of Ethnic Admixing on Personalized Medicine.
