Graduate School Alumni Co-Author of Review and Resource Manual
Dr. Kim M. Hutchinson (MS Epidemiology and Health Services Research, ’03 and Post-Doctoral Fellow in Public Health Sciences) has co-authored the 4th edition of the Review and Resource Manual for Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurses (2012). This manual is recommended as a study review and resource for psychiatric and mental health nurses who are preparing for the examination that accomplishes board certification designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. It includes content and application guides that adopt the standards of psychiatric nursing and professional nursing practice. Conceptualizations of psychopathology, psychopharmacology, crisis management, research, ethics, regulatory requirements, integrative therapies and nursing interventions are presented. The approach addresses care for this population across the life span. This manual is published by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, in cooperation with the American Nurses Association.
Dr. Hutchinson is employed at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and is active in helping nurses locally and nationally accomplish this distinction.
